Plenty of time to catch up on my writing… I’m enjoying a seven and a half hour bus ride back to London from Carlisle. Just as well I have a ton of music on this laptop (I’m currently typing away to the soundtrack of fear and loathing in Las Vegas – makes me chuckle). Let’s rewind a couple of days…
Is there anything quite as tacky as the brass statue of John Lennon, leaning uncharacteristically against the brick walls of Matthew Street? Apparently the brass un-likeness once sported a 1950’s quiff, which was later replaced by the perhaps more recognizable mop-head. Despite the kitsch or perhaps at least partly because of it, I have a soft spot for Liverpool. If you’ve followed my blog posts for a while, you’ll be well aware of that!
On this particular visit I was to play a show at the beautiful View Two Gallery on Matthew Street itself. Host of this event was the lovely Graham Holland of Liverpool Acoustic. It will come as no surprise to anybody who’s paid one of his nights a visit that he is indeed an award-winning host! I’ve rarely been made to feel more welcome than when Graham gushingly introduced me to the audience… eek! Thank you so much to all of you who came to the show and for being such a wonderful, attentive and fun audience. Liverpool, so far you deserve the award for best ‘Red and White Blood Cell’ singing – you’re all hired!
I’m heading back up the pool next Sunday for a free show supporting Springtime Anchorage – who are quite awesome, so I’m really looking forward to that! For now it’s more staring out the window and counting down the hours back to London town… Only five more to go…
Thouroughly enjoyed you in Liverpool. Finished a week visiting family off lovely. Enjoying album. Good luck for the future. Hope to see you again.
