I wonder if I’m the first person ever to arrive at London City Airport with a guitar. I’m sitting in the departure lounge at Frankfurt airport, mostly surrounded by suited folk who are busy checking emails on smartphones. Last night was the second show of my first ever living room tour. Two days prior to that, I had the pleasure of beginning the tour with a gig in Hamburg. Both shows were so enjoyable that I feel I might just continue playing private shows for as long as I can. Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome and for hosting such a great party – that goes to both Michael in Hamburg who was celebrating his Birthday at one of Hamburg’s oldest and coolest music venues, the Logo, and to Klaus & Stephanie in Frankfurt who organised the concert in their lovely and very German out-of-town garden (word of the day for those of you wanting to learn German: Schraebergarten). I feel really fortunate to have been booked to play by such lovely people and am looking forward to the UK living room dates (first one’s this coming Friday in Hertfordshire!).
By now I’ve boarded the plane and taken off towards London town. Tomorrow evening I’m playing a live session for the Ph7 show on Optical Radio, so if you’re free and in close proximity to an internet-accessible device at 9pm, tune in! Also, if you’re intrigued and interested in arranging a private living-room gig for yourself and your friends, just drop me a line through the contact form on the website or get in touch via Facebook or Twitter. I’d be more than happy to play a show for you sometime in August or September, whether you’re in the UK, Ireland or Germany. For now, here’s signing off from above the clouds, a sheet of silver stretching out into the horizon. Good night everybody!
