Two weeks ago I got to play at this year’s Lounge on the Farm festival in Canterbury and it was one of my absolute highlights of the year so far. The sun was shining and I got to play in a tent packed with lovely people ready to listen, sing along and have a good time. What was great about this festival was that absolutely everybody, the other acts, the festival goers and the organisers were all fantastic – it was just a great atmosphere where everybody was made to feel equally important and everybody just wanted to have a good time. The Lounge on the Farm team went out of their way to ensure everyone was happy and had what they needed: Thank you so much for letting me be part of it and for putting on such a great three-day show!
Apart from being so thrilled to be part of the line-up, I was even more excited that the day’s Headline Act was to be The Streets. I know they’re not everybody’s shot of brandy, but I really loved their first LP, ‘Original Pirate material’ and I’ll never forget when I saw “Let’s push things forward’ for the first time late at night on a German TV Music channel. It was a just bit of home for an expat / nomad like me. So, small personal highlight: I got to say hello to Mike Skinner himself and very nice he was too! Thanks to all and hope to be back next year!
